CrossFit has definitely changed my life

“I’ve struggled with my weight and overall health for several years. In October 2019, I weighed my heaviest at 380 pounds and 46% body fat. My cholesterol was terrible, my blood pressure was terrible, and everything else you can imagine was not good. I couldn’t put my boots on for work without getting out of breath. That month, I began the police academy which was a huge wake-up call. I knew that if I wanted to survive in this line of work and make it home safe after each shift, I needed to fix myself. Over the next 16 weeks, I learned more than just how to be a basic cop. I learned health and fitness also. I graduated in January 2020 and weighed in at 335 pounds. I kept up with my dieting and exercise, primarily weight lifting with little cardio. In September 2020, I decided to jump over to the dark side and join HomeBrew. I fell in love instantly. In October 2020, I weighed in at 268 pounds and 23% body fat. I’ve come a long way and have plans to become even better.


CrossFit has definitely changed my life since I started last year. I don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner. It’s the perfect mix of weight lifting that I so enjoy, and cardio. I primarily did the keto diet to lose the weight, however, I wish I wouldn’t have. I’m struggling now with transitioning to eating carbs again and eating a proper amount of food. I’d definitely recommend getting with a dietician from the start to avoid this issue later on. All in all, I’m thankful for the coaches, staff, and other members of HomeBrew who have welcomed me and helped me out this far. It’s not over yet though”
